Cancellation Policy

Last updated: June 2, 2026

The short version

Cancel anytime from inside Screentour. It takes effect at the end of your paid period, so there are no more charges and you keep access until then. After that your space becomes read-only. Your films and team stay in place, nothing is billed, and you can still export or delete everything.

How to cancel

We'd rather have happy users than trapped ones, so cancelling is easy and on your terms. There is a clear cancel button in your account settings, reachable in a couple of clicks, which German law requires us to provide for consumers (§ 312k BGB). Since the subscription belongs to the space, the space owner is the one who cancels it.

Cancelling does three things.

  • Cancellation is scheduled for the end of your current paid period.
  • Billing stops, so there are no further charges.
  • You keep full access until the period ends, so you get everything you've already paid for.

What happens after your period ends

When the paid period runs out, your space (your Screentour workspace) becomes read-only if you exceed the limits of the free plan (one film, one space member).

  • Your films and team members stay exactly where they are, and nothing is deleted.
  • Nothing is billed to you.
  • You can still export your data and delete your data.

If you'd like to keep using Screentour for free, you can move down to the Free plan. Reduce your space to one film and just the owner, with no other paid members, and the space reactivates on the Free plan.

Cancel, withdraw, or delete?

These three are easy to mix up, so here is the plain difference.

  • Cancel. Stop future billing. Your subscription runs to the end of the paid period, then stops. You keep access until then. This is the page you're reading.
  • Withdraw. Your statutory 14-day right when you first subscribe, to undo the contract and get your money back through Paddle. See the Refund Policy.
  • Delete. Erase your data entirely, your "right to be forgotten" under Art. 17 GDPR. This is permanent. The one thing we must keep is invoices and tax records, which the law requires us to retain for a set period, and those live in billing rather than in the app. See How long we keep it in the Privacy Policy.

You can do any of these independently. Cancelling doesn't delete your data, and deleting your data isn't required in order to cancel.

If a payment fails

If a payment doesn't go through, we don't cut you off straight away. There is a short grace period, and we'll send you reminders so you have time to fix it. If it's still not sorted by the end of that grace period, the space becomes read-only, the same state described above, with your data intact.

To get going again, update your payment method in the Paddle customer portal. The link is in your billing emails and in your account settings. Once payment succeeds, full access comes straight back.

Coming back

Changed your mind? Resubscribing restores full access. Your films, submissions, and team are exactly as you left them. Nothing was thrown away. It was simply waiting for you.
