Ownership Policy
Last updated: June 2, 2026
The short version
You own what you put into Screentour. A space always has an owner who manages the subscription, so it can never be left in limbo. You can transfer ownership, and members keep control of their own personal data.
What a space is
A space is your workspace in Screentour, where your films, submissions, and team live. Most people have one. If you run more than one production or company, you can have more than one space, each billed on its own.
Who owns a space
The person who creates a space is its owner. If you use Screentour for yourself, that is you, and the space and the data in it are yours. If a space is set up for an organisation, the organisation is the owner. The owner manages the subscription and decides space-level settings, such as whether the space takes part in research.
Owners and members
A paid space can have members and guests. Members can see and work on the films and submissions in the space, as described in the Privacy Policy under Who sees your data. Being a member does not make someone an owner. Each member still controls their own personal data and can exercise their data rights independently of the owner.
Every space keeps an owner
A space always has at least one active owner, so it can never end up with nobody able to manage or cancel it. For that reason, the last owner of a space that still has other members cannot simply remove themselves and leave the space stranded. You either transfer ownership first or wind the space down.
Transferring ownership
Ownership of a space can be transferred to another member. The subscription stays with the space, so billing continues without interruption under the new owner, and the payment method on file keeps applying until it is updated in the Paddle portal.
Closing your account
If you close your account, any space where you are the sole owner and the only member is dissolved with it. If you are the sole owner of a space that still has other members, transfer ownership first, so those members keep their access. Your own personal data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy under How long we keep it.
